Tribute to Sol Lewitt**
Milan, 2016
"The most interesting characteristic of the cube is that it is relatively uninteresting. Compared to any other three-dimensional form, the cube lacks any aggressive force, implies no motion, and is least emotive. Therefore, it is the best form to use as a basic unit for any more elaborate function, the grammatical device from which the work may proceed." Sol Lewitt
During the 2016 Milan Design Week, Supercake presented iPot and Qbo. The last one was designed in partnership with artist Mark Kalinka and produced by Haute Material, a company based in Sondrio, Italy. The mounting was realized by Spazio Luce, from Milan. For that event, iPot was used to reproduce one of the works of Sol Lewitt, who defined the cube as the best basic unit for any more elaborate functions.
